Quarantine has completely changed my approach to makeup… pre-corona I never left the house without makeup and barely would even walk the dog without mascara. Now, I’ve learned to embrace a little bit more of a natural, more low-maintenance look which is perfect for summer!
Here are my absolute must-have products that I have been loving. A couple are new to me and the rest are tried and true classics I’ve been using for years!
First up, my absolute most worn lip gloss ever, Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in Icing. I love this gloss because it is the prettiest sheer pink and doesn’t have glitter. It looks amazing with a tan and is a great summer staple. I have been wearing this for years and have bought at least a dozen of these! 10/10
Glowscreen by Supergoop has been my top new product of the year! I am obsessed… it has SPF and gives you the prettiest, glowiest skin ever. Wear this and you really won’t need foundation for most days! I have been wearing this non-stop and love that it’s one color only, so that totally takes the guesswork out of buying online!
Another great product which is not really makeup, but falls in the beauty/self-care category for sure… the OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil is incredible. Personally, I love floral scents (I’ve been wearing V&R Flowerbomb for years) and this has been the savior for my dry skin and hair. I use a decent amount (4-5 pumps) right after a shower for my skin and then 1 pump for the ends of my hair while it’s still wet. You feel totally moisturized and not greasy which is what I always look for. Will rebuy 100%!
My last two picks are by Charlotte Tilbury and I have to say out of every makeup brand, CT most consistently puts out beautiful, high quality products. I love almost everything they launch! I have been wearing the Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo in Fair/Medium for at least 5+ years and have not had a bronzer or highlighter come close to being as good. Both of these are SO PRETTY and just make your skin look flawless. I even have used the bronzer as an eye shadow on occasion for a summery look.
Last, but certainly, not least is the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eye Shadow in Jean-Champagne. This creamy shadow comes in a pot and is so easy to work with. The salesperson at Nordstrom told me I could use my fingers to apply, but honestly, I think it blends better with a fluffy brush. This shadow looks great on its own for a shimmery look or you can even use it as a base for other shadows so just a hint of shine shows through!
I love trying new products, let me know what your summer makeup favorites are!
