Happy Tuesday! I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes for a spicy margarita which can easily be made non-spicy if that’s more your speed! Andy and I have been trying to incorporate #tacotuesday into our weekly rotation just to give us a fun, easy weeknight dinner to look forward to…and you can’t have tacos without margaritas, right?!
These are literally sooo easy, but the trick is really not using a pre-made mix. Squeezing fresh limes makes your margarita taste 1000x times fresher and so much better! Make it a spicy margarita by adding in a few slices of jalapeño and add a rim of salt! Here’s the quick recipe which can easily be doubled, tripled, quadrupled, etc. if you want to make a batch of margaritas! This recipe keeps well in the refrigerator, so you can easily prep this ahead of serving!
Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1oz. fresh lime juice (about 1 lime per 2 margaritas)
- 2oz. tequila – I love Casamigos
- 1oz. Cointreau
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper sliced
- Salt for the rim of the glass
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients over ice in a cocktail mixing glass or cocktail shaker to mix. Strain into a rocks glass with a salted rim and serve over fresh ice! We love these giant ice cubes which don’t melt as fast. Garnish with a lime wheel and more jalapeños if you like it extra spicy!
